Sketchbooks. Night fires. Aesop and Grimm.
There are pines that are tall enough already.
In the distance, the whining of saws
The up-early privacy of a house at dawn.
There are pines that are tall enough already
And I faith those pines will not go to waste.
The up-early privacy of a house at dawn.
Each has a story. Each pine and each house.
And I faith those pines will not go to waste.
Waiting in their dark clothes, apart.
Each has a story. Each pine and each house.
And sometimes the home is built near the pine.
Waiting in their dark clothes, apart.
In the distance, the whining of saws.
And sometimes the home is built near the pine.
Sketchbooks. Night fires. Aesop and Grimm.
It's good to acknowledge source material but as a title this is a little unwieldy. When using two texts like this, try to alternate to maximize the frisson. A good draft. Keep working on it, perhaps trying a different fist/last line.
